About

The Fuzzy Guides

The Fuzzy Guides was started in January 2010 and the original idea was to have a place to publish my guides. It has now evolved into more than a simple text guide site, it now has videos and deep rich media guides, and ideas are still coming.

Because it is a young project I would greatly appreciate you following the site on Twitter, Facebook or RSS.

If you are interested in publishing your own guide on the site, please head over to the Publish Your Guide page.

If you have a subject on which you would like a guide, please head to the Request a Guide page and send me a message about it.

The Author

My name is Luke Channings, I live in Manchester (That’s England) and I am currently studying I.T. at college, although my interest in computing started far earlier than college, as I have been messing with computers for a very long time.

I started using Linux when I was about 10, thanks to my older brother, and more recently I have been messing with more hardware-related computing (PC building, router modding.)

I started messing around with HTML around when I was 13 and have been doing more and more Web Development over the years. I write HTML and CSS to a very high degree and have recently been getting into scripting languages like PHP and Javascript, mainly because it’s a lot of fun to do.

I am an enthusiast when it comes to Software, and I would be a Hardware enthusiast too, but it’s too expensive :P

I started The Fuzzy Guides in part  because I love to make websites, but also because I needed a place to keep records of the things I have done, so that I can do it again if I forget how to do something :)

The Theme

The first theme I made for the site was a bit terrible, mainly because of the Typography. This new theme is without a doubt the best theme I have made, using all of my HTML, CSS, PHP and jQuery knowledge to create it. Also, unlike the first theme I have integrated with WordPress to a large degree, as you may be able to tell from the homepage.

Due to my long history with the Open Source community I have decided to make the source code for this theme readily available for anyone that wants it, this includes original SVG designs, excluding logos. Just click here to go to the source page.
